| New Moms Groups are a great way to meet other mothers with babies of similar ages. For many moms, it is just the right social atmosphere for their first outings with their babies. In a cozy environment - close to home and with women from your community - reflect and gain insight from the experience of others, and share your own stories. A small group promotes lasting, important friendships and a chance to see how your experiences make great learning moments for others. Groups meet for 6 weeks and are for moms whose babies are 2-10 weeks old at the time of the first meeting. To cultivate a supportive environment, groups are limited to six moms. The 90 minute format consists of three components: Opening Rounds, a facilitated discussion based on an open-ended question or concept; Your Baby This Week, a fun exercise based on your baby's development; and Mom's Tips, a relaxed chance for moms to share their how-to's, anything from feeding, soothing fussiness, to who knows what! Guest speakers are arranged when possible, such as lactation consultants or infant massage therapists. Boppies and Brestfriends, as well as coffee, tea, and bagels are available! This group is open to all moms, regardless of whether you are on temporary leave or plan to stay home, bottle-feeding or nursing, co-sleeping or crying-it-out. There are many different challenges and solutions to early parenting, and successful outcomes only come from sharing! Space is limited and early registration is recommended. Fee for 6 weeks is $90, in cash or check payable to A Mom Is Born. Credit card payment can be made by clicking on Please be certain to contact me first to ensure there is space available. Once registered, payments are non-refundable. |
